Gjøvik is a town and a municipality in Oppland county, Norway. Along with the cities of Hamar and Lillehammer, it borders on Lake Mjøsa, Norway’s biggest lake.
Around 30,000 human beings live in Gjøvik, mostly in houses and buildings : the few biggest ones being students’ residential units.
One of the attractions is the Skibladner, the world’s oldest paddle steamer, on which one can be taken on board for a tour on the lake during the summer.
